The series of debates between the U.S. candidate president for the final round will take place on Monday evening (10/22) local time. Debate on the theme of U.S. foreign policy will be held at Lynn University, Boca Raton, Florida, USA.
The debate is the last chance for them to be face to face to convince the American people. They will say their opinion in order to get the votes in the presidential election on 6 November. Mitt Romney is predicted to be back to attack the weakness of Obama's foreign policy.
In the second round of debate last week, Romney revealed the U.S. consulate attack incident in Libya to discredit Obama. But then, Obama could reverse the Romney's attacks and give the right answer.
In the final round of debate, Romney will attack Obama again linked to the weakening of the U.S. leadership in the world. The issue actually has been also submitted by Romney in the article and his campaign before the first debate took place earlier this month.
Director and senior fellow of the Middle East Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) Jon Alterman judging, Romney would easily attack the foreign policy and national security under the Obama administration. Especially, he added, Obama's policy in dealing with Iran, Syria, China, Afghanistan and Russia. "Obama already has a track record on foreign policy, and Romney does not have it, so Romney can argue as easy as picking the cherries. But that does not mean it will be used as a benchmark by the American people, "he said.
Nevertheless, the researchers assessed the foreign policy offered by Romney in his campaigns did not offer much alternative policy of the Obama administration. One of them was Romney pledged to stiffen the pressure on Iran to halt its nuclear program, whereas the Obama administration has implemented the strict economic sanctions.
In the 90-minute debate, I doubt Romney will attack by offering alternative solutions.
Discussion hosted by news anchor Bob Schieffer will be divided into six segments. Segments include America's role in the world, the war in Afghanistan, relations with Israel, Iran's nuclear program, the changes in the Middle East, terrorism, and the rise of China.

The Tearing of Family Fraternity
Relation between Syria and Lebanon was rooted in the French occupation era in 1920. At that time, the French created a Greater Syria that included Syria, Lebanon and Turkey in the south.
According to Dr. Bassel Salloukh , this factor made Damascus always think Beirut as a brother of the family. Damascus was dubbed the special relationship with term "Alaqat Mumayyaza".
Actually this is a euphemism used by Damascus to legitimize their intervention in the domestic and foreign policy of Lebanon. Bassel referring to military intervention launched by the late Hafez al-Assad in 1976. The move was taken when it was struck Lebanon's civil war. At that time, the Maronite Christian group that carried the Lebanese front clashed with the Lebanese National Movement consisted of Muslims left-wing activists.
If it is considered from a geopolitical -- according to Bassel -- the defeat of Christian camp will invite Israeli intervention in Lebanon through the Bekaa valley, which practically dismantle the Lebanese-Syrian corridor.
On the other hand, Sunni Islamist victory will be bad in Syria. Because the group is allied with Iraq and Libya, so that Syria can be dragged into premature conflict against Israel. Based on that calculation, Hafez al-Assad supporting Christian camp, which could be driven easily.
Syria's presence in Lebanon continued after the civil war in Lebanon ended with the Taif Agreement in October 1989. "Because, through the agreement Syria's role in Lebanon is recognized as a guarantor of security," said Murhaf Jouejati, director of Middle East studies at George Washington University.
Consequently, from 1991 to 2005 Syria practically fully took control of domestic and foreign policy of Lebanon. The move was done in order to ensure the continuity between the Christians, Sunni Muslims, Shiite Muslims and Druze sect.
But Hariri's death in 2005 has changed everything. Hariri who opposed Syria was killed by al-Assad's regime. "The Syria intervention and Hariri's death became a turning point that led to a dramatic change in the relationship between Syria and Lebanon," said Hussein Ibish, Lebanon's daily Star newspaper correspondent.

Wissam al-Hassan's death had been predicted
A week before the fatal car bomb in Beirut, Lebanon, on Friday (10/19) Wissam al Hassan knew he was being targeted by the assassins. To a number of Lebanese opposition leaders he warned them to stay alert.
According to Lebanon's Interior Minister Marwan Charbel, Al-Hassan claimed that he received the death threats because he revealed the involvement of former information minister Michael Samaha with the Syrian government. Therefore, Charbel asked Al-Hassan immediately abroad and did not return to Lebanon for a while, but this 47-year-old man insisted on staying in Beirut.
French foreign minister, Laurent Fabius was bluntly accused Syria as the ringleader of Al-Hassan's death. Fabius called Bashar as-Assad as a manipulator who wanted to spread the conflict to Turkey, Jordan and Lebanon.
Through the investigation conducted by Al-Hassan, Samaha was known to plan the bombing in Lebanon on the order of Syria's special security adviser Brigadier General Ali Mamlouk. The incriminating evidence came in August when Samaha aide recorded the delivery of explosives from Mamlouk. Samaha was also mentioned often recording the important conversations. The recordings of secret talks were uploaded by him to computer and it's getting aggravating his case.
The case built by Al-Hassan at Samaha was very unusual happened in Lebanon. People like Samaha have a strong connection, can't be touched. Moreover, the Syria interests has deep roots in Lebanon. But Hassan insisted, assuming the case was different. Long before Samaha's case, Al-Hassan was an important figure in Lebanon security realm. The father of two children was a former security chief of late Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, who was killed by a car bomb in 2005.
He later became a key investigator for the Lebanon special investigation to investigate the Hariri's death. The results of his investigation later was used to indict four members of Hezbollah, so it was cornering Hezbollah and Bashar al-Assad.
As the head of domestic intelligence, Al-Hassan was known as an anti-Syrian figure. This fact practically was a counterweight in the realm of Lebanese intelligence, because the military intelligence agency known as Syria's supporter. Together with a number of other politicians, they joined in the March 8 Alliance and supported the Damascus policy in Lebanon.
Al-Hassan was one of the leaders of March 14 bloc, anti-Syrian groups formed a day after a wave of protests condemned the killer behind Hariri's death in 2005.
Al-Hassan was buried beside Hariri. The mourners were greeted with Lebanese military cordon around Martyrs' Square.
