Gandhi

For those who think that "politics is dirty", please read Gandhi. For those who argue that politics is a ruse, please read Gandhi.

"With all humility, I can say that those who think religion has nothing to do with politics, they actually do not know what the religion means."

If he said it, no one would conclude that the definition of "religion" there was akin to fanaticism. Politics even sounded as devotion - without hostility.

Indeed, he was a Bhagavad Gita reader who was impressed by the poems that discussed the possibility of  an abomination of desire. He was also a reader at Gospel in part when Christ was preaching on the hill. "I tell you, "Jesus said, "Do not harass those who do evil to you."

That does not mean that Gandhi's motion is completely without resistance. In 1916, speaking at the opening of the Benares Hindu University, he said something that caused Annie Besant -- founder of the theosophical movement -- called out to him, "Please, do not continue it." A high official of the British colonial government even muttering, "We have to stop this guy of what he says is so dirty."

Slob? What was said by Gandhi was the courage to confront the local feudal, facing the detective, even the King of England, who supported a system where farmers were so hungry and the princes were encrusted with jewels.

But still he was Gandhi. He claimed to refuse cooperation with the colonial government, and December 15, 1921 he even declared the "war" and "his rebellion". He held a mass movement. But as said by his biographers, he remained very human and even almost sentimental, also in politics at a time when sentimentality was booed. Gandhi, deep in his heart, still believe there was something good in the British colonial rule.

At the end of 1921, his writing in Young India said, "The institutions that seem generous from the British government actually is like a snake in a fairy tale: crowned with brilliant diamonds in its head, but full of poison in its fangs. "

At that time he was no longer speaking as in 1915, when he declared his loyalty to the British Empire. But Gandhi nonetheless still stated, "There is no country that does not have its good side."

And perhaps he was right. If it was seen again today, the British colonial government in India at that time had a good thing which had often lost in the administration of its former colonies. The one good thing was the ideal to provide flexibility to devote its energy,  to display its honor, and, in the words of Gandhi, "Anything that is considered worthy of conscience". Gandhi was the one who fell in love with an ideal like that.

A reviewer of Gandhi's biography -- Ved Mehta -- also said that the Gandhi's struggle methods -- Satyagraha, non-violent, fasting and so on -- would be successful if implemented in societies such as the British Empire and the United States, ie people who have freedom to publish and speak, where there is public opinion, and where to receive the influence of the mind is not a sin. Also where governing power is controlled by moral absolutes, so that the sense of guilt will arise at each step of oppression occurs.

Does it mean that Gandhi's method is not universal, and lies, violence and machination can be justified for politics?

"Hundreds of people like me should go away, but let the truth reign," Gandhi said in the introduction to his autobiography. "I have to stoop to zero."

ONLINE TODAY

Communication needs to be short and sweet today -- so make sure that you're quick and to the point. That can be easy in person, but make sure your writing is cut back as much as possible. You'll be seeking injustice today, because you know what it feels like to be treated unfairly. This compassion will force you to butt into a situation you feel isn't right. Friends will admire your principled ways and call you a hero when you stop a silly situation from rapidly growing into a heated argument. Though you strive to avoid conflict, you simply can't ignore this one. Besides, it feels good to fight for the little guy.

I tore up a newspaper published this morning because I was so upset with media coverage of Syria. My partner was not angry. He was reading another newspaper while drinking his cup of coffee with milk and his cheese toast. Our baby looked at what I had done with his eyes, my pearls in the morning. He grinned when he heard the sound of torn paper. I really liked to see his grin. There were six new teeth in his gums. I wanted him to show all his teeth.

One! I started to tear the main page. He grinned again. So sweet. Two! I tore the first page into two. He grinned for a second time. More sweet. Three! I tore the first page into four. He's getting excited and began issuing his voice. Baby voice. I'm very touched by all of his voice. Four! I will use this sweet gap: channeling my sickener while making my baby happy.  Five! I took a sheet of related news and let them give up on my fingers agility at the moment: ripping.

Family dining room filled with the our laughter in the morning. My fiance kissed me gently. He has always been a water when I was a fire.

I returned his kiss all my heart. It was better than I was just silence and then biting my lip for holding upset. I just said quietly, "They're provoking situations in the news."

He did not react much, just patted my cheek and then gently pinched it and turned my mood on what was being done by our baby. "Yups! See honey, let Our Little Boss handles this pressure. Look! Look what has been done! Oh dear..." he said while pointing at our baby. I followed his finger swing. Olala! There he was. Olili... that's what I secretly loved about my baby tiny fingers : Squeezing-our-morning-paper-to-shreds. Pique's over. Oh little sweetheart, you understand me, too? Really? Ow, thank you for little impingement with great effect. Mwah!

Inside Story : Syria: The drums of war?  The United States has given its strongest response yet to a suspected gas attack that killed hundreds of civilians in Syria last week. The White House insists there is little doubt President Bashar al-Assad is responsible, with the US government describing the suspected chemical weapons attack as a "moral obscenity" that is "inexcusable" and "undeniable". President Barack Obama put his credibility on the line last August when he said the use of chemical weapons in Syria would constitute a red line that would compel an American response. Now Secretary of State John Kerry is making it clear which way the US is leaning. We ask: Does the West have a mandate to attack Syria? What would an international intervention imply? Russia and Iran Warn Against Intervention in Syria

I am wondering, how the hell is actually the relationship between Israel and Russia?

Putin has told Israel that despite the friction between Syrian government and Israel was a natural thing --and it means the greatest importance for the survival of Israel is to keep the Assad regime in Syria --  but why when the 1948 Arab-Israeli War, Russia also arming Israel to fight its  enemies such as Egypt, Syria, Iraq, and Jordan? Although their relations soured when Russian then directly threatened to attack Israel at Sinai crisis and the Arab-Israeli Role 1973, and After the 1967 Six Day War Russia supported the Palestinian militants, and Russia also opposed the Israeli invasion of Lebanon in 1982, and the fact now, Moscow is also still in relationship with Israel's enemies, ....mmmm, why is Russia still willing to smile on Israel? Ouch, Ouch, why my most handsome man from Russia was with you, Israel?

(Stop asking, Cisca! Do you think political stage is a stage for mysterious drama?

What? You are also wondering? Stop asking too, moron!

Shut up, both of you! Here can be deduced that the Jewish state is facing two major threats. One: Iran as a direct threat. Two: Russia as a veiled threat. Israel fear becomes stronger, considering today a wave of anti-Semitic (anti-Jewish) becomes stronger in Russia. When Vladimir Putin returns to power, he also calls on Israel to pull out of all occupied Arab lands. Inevitably, behind the veil of diplomacy, it seems, .... mmm ...there is tension between Russia-Israel?

China's Bo denounces former police chief as vile liar

Politics is in fact a stage where politicians play a role contrary to their original character. However, unlike the theater featuring the actors ---the player character in a drama based on a fictional story --- political stage trying to play the character in a narrative essay to manipulate, deceive, and deceive the public. They played the character to cover the doings of sloppy, actions are far from ethical values and decency, as well as the disgraceful behavior that is totally contrary to the principles of civility in politics. Politics - which is actually a very noble and a straight path for those who are committed to fight for the aspirations and interests of the people through the public policy process --- has been distorted to be a crooked path to greedy people and don't have dedication. Their orientation only to accumulate wealth by abusing power for personal purposes. Inevitably, politics turned into a very harsh on the hands of the immoral and unethical, those whose minds and hearts just filled with power ambitions to satisfy the hedonic desires and material lust  which become the symbol of worldly luxuries.

So, in order to meet the political lust with material dimension, politicians do not hesitate to do a gigantic scale corruption. On behalf of the rights of authority budgets, they use state money through various modus operandi such as to ask commission money to smooth proposed development projects financed by the state budget, to charge to approve a clause in the legislation, citing kickbacks in return for approval of any manufacturing public policy, and various other similar modes.

Political corruption involving politicians as public officials commonly called Political Extorsion in the process of public policy-making. So, politicians who are involved corruption case actually a set of high-level exploiters (read: Criminal Elite) because of their political positions.

Such political corruption has become a common phenomenon among politicians and hit almost all the political parties, both parties based on religion or secular parties. It's interesting, politicians often apply with echoes of heroic anti-corruption slogans to lure the public and for imaging. They never stop echoing the political rhetoric that corruption is against the law and contrary to the principles of religious morality and public morality. But behind the political rhetoric of anti-corruption, politicians just often times involved in a corruption scandal to perpetuate their power. They have demonstrated a very real political hypocrisy. This is reflected in the words and deeds which are not in line. So, it's not surprising if the public considers that actually the politicians are the bunch of hypocrites.

DEMOCRACY NOW Friday, September 8, 2006 - Satyagraha 100 Years Later: Gandhi Launches Modern Non-Violent Resistance Movement on Sept. 11, 1906

Ask Gandhi

Q : "Mr. Gandhi,  I understand the concept of non-violence and civil dis-obedience. Do you really think it would work in all situations?   For example, against a monster like Hitler ?"

A : Non-violence does not mean making peace. On the other hand, it means fighting bravely and sincerely for truth and doing what is just. Like all fights, there will be a terrible loss and pain. But a satyagrahi (soldier of civil disobedience) must go on.

My success with civil disobedience in South Africa and in India has not come easy. A large number of people sacrificed a great deal, including their lives while fighting for truth and justice.

The doctrine of Satyagraha works on the principle that you make the so called enemy see and realize the injustice he is engaged in. It can work only when you believe in God and the goodness of the people to see that they are wrong. As a satyagrahi, I  do believe that non-violence is a potent weapon against all evils. I warn you however, that the victory will not come easy- just like it will not come easy with violent methods such as fighting with weaponry.

Kerry talks Syria, Iran in Saudi Arabia
ehehehhe.... Saudi Arabia... ahahahaha...
Why John Kerry Gave $250 Million to Egypt
I just feel ahem .. ahem. I still remember: America was a faithful coalition of Mubarak's era in the Middle East. Even at the beginning, the U.S. sought to maintain the Mubarak regime, with demand for peaceful reform. Joe Biden even defended Mubarak, saying that Mubarak was not a dictator. And now...ehehehe..

Do not forget, Egypt. The U.S. will always be pragmatic. U.S. hypocritical attitude is, theoretically  the U.S. supports the Egypt political reform, but in practice the U.S. supports despotic regimes for practical reasons related to national interests.

"Thank you for your perception! I like your romantic side, even if I do not always comment and I'm glad that you're in my circle of friends."
(Courtesies by: Wolfgang A. Gerhardt)

Wolfgang A.Gerhardt : May be you like this Sunday collage

Cisca Zarmansyah : Before today, there never was a person doing this to me. You create a simple matter to look special. This is a special thing for me.

Cisca Zarmansyah : Thank you. I love it. I love you, my friend.

CieL- FreYa Ceastle : Hmm, he's so nice...

"I am me.
In all the world,
there is no one else exactly like me.
Everything that comes out of me
is authentically mine,
because I alone chose it --
I own everything about me:
my body,
my feelings,
my mouth,
my voice,
all my actions,
whether they be to others or myself.
I own my fantasies,
my dreams,
my hopes,
my fears.
I own my triumphs and successes,
all my failures and mistakes.
Because I own all of me,
I can become intimately acquainted with me.
By so doing,
I can love me
and be friendly with all my parts.
I know there are aspects about myself that puzzle me,
and other aspects that I do not know
-- but as long as I am friendly
and loving to myself,
I can courageously and hopefully
look for solutions
to the puzzles and ways
to find out more about me.
However I look and sound,
whatever I say and do,
and whatever I think and feel at a given moment in time
is authentically me.
If later some parts of how I looked,
sounded,
thought,
and felt
turn out to be unfitting,
I can discard that which is unfitting,
keep the rest,
and invent something new
for that which I discarded.
I can see,
hear,
feel,
think,
say, and do.
I have the tools to survive,
to be close to others,
to be productive,
and to make sense
and order out of the world of people
and things outside of me.
I own me,
and therefore,
I can engineer me.
I am me,
and I am okay."
