Is the US or the World Coming to an End?

■ Written By : Paul Craig Roberts

2014 is shaping up as a year of reckoning for the United States.

Two pressures are building on the US dollar. One pressure comes from the Federal Reserve's declining ability to rig the price of gold as Western gold supplies shrivel and market knowledge of the Fed's illegal price rigging spreads. The evidence of massive amounts of naked shorts being dumped into the paper gold futures market at times of day when trading is thin is unequivocal. It has become obvious that the price of gold is being rigged in the futures market in order to protect the dollar’s value from QE.

The other pressure arises from the Obama regime's foolish threats of sanctions on Russia. Other countries are no longer willing to tolerate Washington’s abuse of the world dollar standard. Washington uses the dollar-based international payments system to inflict damage on the economies of countries that resist Washington’s political hegemony.

Russia and China have had enough. As I have reported and as Peter Koenig reports here. Russia and China are disconnecting their international trade from the dollar. Henceforth, Russia will conduct its trade, including the sale of oil and natural gas to Europe, in rubles and in the currencies of its BRICS partners.

This means a big drop in the demand for US dollars and a corresponding drop in the dollar's exchange value.

As John Williams has made clear, the US economy has not recovered from the downturn in 2008 and has weakened further. The vast majority of the US population is hard pressed from the lack of income growth for years. As the US is now an import-dependent economy, a drop in the dollar’s value will raise US prices and push living standards lower.

All evidence points to US economic failure in 2014, and that is the conclusion of John Williams' April 9 report.

This year could also see the breakup of NATO and even the EU. Washington's reckless coup in Ukraine and threat of sanctions against Russia have pushed its NATO puppet states onto dangerous ground. Washington misjudged the reaction in Ukraine to its overthrow of the elected democratic government and imposition of a stooge government. Crimea quickly departed Ukraine and rejoined Russia. Other former Russian territories in Ukraine might soon follow. Protesters in Lugansk, Donetsk, and Kharkov are demanding their own referendums. Protesters have declared the Donetsk People's Republic and Kharkov People's Republic. Washington's stooge government in Kiev has threatened to put the protests down with violence. Washington claims that the protests are organized by Russia, but no one believes Washington, not even its Ukrainian stooges.

Russian news reports have identified US mercenaries among the Kiev force that has been sent to put down the separatists in eastern Ukraine. A member of the right-wing, neo-Nazi Fatherland Party in the Kiev parliament has called for shooting the protesters dead.

Violence against the protesters is likely to bring in the Russian Army and result in the return to Russia of its former territories in Eastern Ukraine that were attached to Ukraine by the Soviet Communist Party.

With Washington out on a limb issuing threats hand over fist, Washington is pushing Europe into two highly undesirable confrontations. Europeans do not want a war with Russia over Washington's coup in Kiev, and Europeans understand that any real sanctions on Russia, if observed, would do far more damage to Europeans. Within the EU, growing economic inequality among the countries, high unemployment, and stringent economic austerity imposed on poorer members have produced enormous strains. Europeans are in no mood to bear the brunt of a Washington-orchestrated conflict with Russia. While Washington presents Europe with war and sacrifice, Russia and China offer trade and friendship. Washington will do its best to keep European politicians bought-and-paid-for and in line with Washington's policies, but the downside for Europe of going along with Washington is now much larger.

Across many fronts, Washington is emerging in the world's eye as duplicitous, untrustworthy, and totally corrupt. A Securities and Exchange Commission prosecuting attorney, James Kidney used the occasion of his retirement to reveal that higher ups had squelched his prosecutions of Goldman Sachs and other "banks too big to fail", because his SEC bosses were not focused on justice but “on getting high-paying jobs after their government service” by protecting the banks from prosecution for their illegal actions. The US Agency for International Development has been caught trying to use social media to overthrow the government of Cuba.

This audacious recklessness comes on top of Washington's overthrow of the Ukrainian government, the NSA spying scandal, Seymour Hersh's investigative report that the Sarin gas attack in Syria was a false flag event arranged by NATO member Turkey in order to justify a US military attack on Syria, Washington's forcing down Bolivian President Evo Morales' presidential plane to be searched, Saddam Hussein's "weapons of mass destruction", the misuse of the Libyan no-fly resolution for military attack, and on and on. Essentially, Washington has so badly damaged other countries' confidence in the judgment and integrity of the US government that the world has lost its belief in US leadership. Washington is reduced to threats and bribes and increasingly presents as a bully.

The self-inflicted hammer blows to Washington's credibility have taken a toll. The most serious blow of all is the dawning realization everywhere that Washington’s crackpot conspiracy theory of 9/11 is false. Large numbers of independent experts as well as more than one hundred first responders have contradicted every aspect of Washington's absurd conspiracy theory. No aware person believes that a few Saudi Arabians, who could not fly airplanes, operating without help from any intelligence agency, outwitted the entire National Security State, not only all 16 US intelligence agencies but also all intelligence agencies of NATO and Israel as well.

Nothing worked on 9/11. Airport security failed four times in one hour, more failures in one hour than have occurred during the other 116,232 hours of the 21st century combined. For the first time in history the US Air Force could not get interceptor fighters off the ground and into the sky. For the first time in history Air Traffic Control lost airliners for up to one hour and did not report it. For the first time in history low temperature, short-lived, fires on a few floors caused massive steel structures to weaken and collapse. For the first time in history 3 skyscrapers fell at essentially free fall acceleration without the benefit of controlled demolition removing resistance from below.

Two-thirds of Americans fell for this crackpot story. The left-wing fell for it, because they saw the story as the oppressed striking back at America's evil empire. The right-wing fell for the story, because they saw it as the demonized Muslims striking out at American goodness. President George W. Bush expressed the right-wing view very well: “They hate us for our freedom and democracy.”

But no one else believed it, least of all the Italians. Italians had been informed some years previously about government false flag events when their President revealed the truth about secret Operation Gladio. Operation Gladio was an operation run by the CIA and Italian intelligence during the second half of the 20th century to set off bombs that would kill European women and children in order to blame communists and, thereby, erode support for European communist parties.

Italians were among the first to make video presentations challenging Washington's crackpot story of 9/11. The ultimate of this challenge is the 1 hour and 45 minute film, "Zero". You can watch it here. Zero was produced as a film investigating 9/ll by the Italian company Telemaco. Many prominent people appear in the film along with independent experts. Together, they disprove every assertion made by the US government regarding its explanation of 9/11.

The film was shown to the European parliament.

It is impossible for anyone who watches this film to believe one word of the official explanation of 9/11.

The conclusion is increasingly difficult to avoid that elements of the US government blew up three New York skyscrapers in order to destroy Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Somalia, Syria, Iran, and Hezbollah and to launch the US on the neoconservatives agenda of US world hegemony.

China and Russia protested but accepted Libya's destruction even though it was to their own detriment. But Iran became a red line. Washington was blocked, so Washington decided to cause major problems for Russia in Ukraine in order to distract Russia from Washington’s agenda elsewhere.

China has been uncertain about the trade-offs between its trade surpluses with the US and Washington's growing encirclement of China with naval and air bases. China has come to the conclusion that China has the same enemy as Russia has–Washington.

One of two things is likely: Either the US dollar will be abandoned and collapse in value, thus ending Washington's superpower status and Washington's threat to world peace, or Washington will lead its puppets into military conflict with Russia and China. The outcome of such a war would be far more devastating than the collapse of the US dollar.

People & Power - America's War Games. The United States' military expenditures today account for about 40 percent of the world total. In 2012, the US spent some $682bn on its military - an amount more than what was spent by the next 13 countries combined. Now that the war in Iraq is over and the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan will be complete in 2014, the stage might therefore appear to be set for a decrease in US defence spending. Even in Washington DC, many have argued that the defence budget can be cut substantially and the resulting "peace dividend" could be diverted to more pressing domestic concerns, such as dealing with the nation's continuing economic problems.

You tired to curb the passions and to endure the pain. Also waiting for the changes you want. I understand how scratched your heart. And how your self-esteem trampled. Thrown out. Those who embrace you when you are needed. However, compassion touches me. In your weary you stand tall. Although as wasted, you are calm and silent like coral. In your silence, still upright. Like sheer cliffs that often you rock. Abstinence cry if you do not need it. Although cornered you keep waiting. Stoic. Smiling while injured.

My tigress, they will burst when you are cornered. However, keep patient, conquer yourself. Don't be afraid. Even if you know that they are allied. Because one day the mountain will explode. Even the smallest mountain. And, at that time they will know how ferocious a wounded tiger if her revenge is fueled. Therefore my beautiful tiger, uprise again. Running and clawing this cruel life. And do not complain. Keep the spirit.

Cisca Zarmansyah : Professor Ahmed's book describes about the nostalgia of American Muslims before 11 September 2001, when they could enjoy religious freedom guaranteed by US constitution and relatively little public controversy. The book explains how the change in atmosphere since 2001 affects the life, even young people in their school.

One of several sad stories in the book is about the 10 years old boy who lives in New York. When the boy goes to school, he is beaten by peers because they regard him as a terrorist, whereas his mother, (who goes alone to Pakistan) is killed in a bus explosion by the Taliban. It seems, he's under pressure. He's pressured by extremists in Muslim world as well as from some of prejudice faced by Muslims in America.

Cisca Zarmansyah: He gave to the same candidates as the company he works for. You know, General Electric and the labor unions that cover General Electric employees. He gave to Conway and two peoples in AZ. You can't condemn the management even if they did donate to candidates. It comes down to what was in the contract. It can't be hypocritical because Olbermann agreed to the terms.

This is what happens when you violate a contract that you sign. Unless of course you are covered by a union where the employees can violate everything from substance abuse to attendance and be defended free of charge by the union.

He had a contract, he violated the contract, and that should be the end of the story. No conspiracy theories or anything else. Who cares what other people did. What you do and the terms of the contract are the only thing that matter. Otherwise, what's the point of signing a contract. Management has different contracts. If you don't like the terms, don't sign it. Olbermann can blame nobody but himself, and I'm willing to bet that our ratings will get better with him gone and someone different in his time slot. People are now looking for more moderate commentators anyway. Let the politicians bicker and the anchor mediate. That's what people seem to want.

Fairuz Azalia: Coming to America: "Some incredibly important things were being fought for here. The freedom of the imagination, the great, overwhelming, overarching question of freedom of speech, the right of human beings to walk down the streets of their own country without fear." - SALMAN RUSHDIE

Cisca Zarmansyah : who?

Will Rise & Shine
By Cisca Zarmansyah (Albums) · Updated about 9 months ago

* President Barack Hussein Obama has a real honesty in responding the conditions on his domestic government.

* Americans are frustrated, because the changes brought by the Obama administration can't answer the expectations and needs.

* This is an attitude of leadership that contains the moral values. (Moral leadership). He dared to tell the truth about the slowness of reform in the country, especially in the health sector. By clearly, he asked if there's a faster and more efficient, effective and inexpensive concept on health management from Republican party, then his administration would be ready to accommodate it.

* Indeed, it has proven that Obama failed to meet expectations and needs of his own people. The Republican become stronger, while the Democrat faction increasingly thinning. So, there's no other way, except for being soft on his stronghold majority in Parliament.

* But there's another meaning behind the results of elections in America, viz the balance of power between the Republican and Democratic, so the components in US government system each bear the same burdens and responsibilities.

Pranay Suresh : to recognize the inability isn't a stupid thing.

Valentino Vie : baby, do you like him?

Valentino Vie : what makes you like him?

Cisca Zarmansyah : His lips, Noy ...

Valentino Vie : He might as well stay in Asia. You don't want him back there!

Valentino Vie : Obama is leaving the country just after the election. He is taking his wife and kids as well as 3,000 other people for this India trip. They are taking 40 planes, armored cars, helicopters, security forces, and a blank check book. They are planning on spending $200 million per day. 10 Days X $200 mill = 2 billion "Big ones" while American's are still out of work & continue to lose job's and homes! What a joke!

Adriaan Zef : We've seen the damage the right wing agenda has caused each and everytime they are in power. The rich get richer and the poor get shafted. They opress civil rights, they destroy progress and they move this country one step closer to another right wing dictatorship like the former soviet union, nazi germany, and north korea. All right wing countries. All countries where there is a social elite that the right wing would feel very comfortable in.

And I have a plan. Raise taxes on the rich so that they pay their fair share. Make it illegal for companies to hire illegals, or outsource their jobs overseas. Any company that does so gets their CEO arressted and the company siezed and run for the public good. Nationalize healthcare for the betterment of all citizens. Remove corporate personhood and make it illegal for a company to be considered a person. The CEO is personally reasonable for every action taken by his company. Every action! Make marriage defined as a social contract between two or more consenting adults. And that's just part of what it would take to save this country and make it better.

Valentino Vie : Get your head out of your ass! When you throw around words like Nazi & Soviet it only makes you look that much dumber! If you like i will post you two links that will prove my point when I say your wrong! Nothing can be furthest from the truth. And if you want to compare with Nazi Germany, you may want to look at the core of the Democrat party! Boy o Boy you need to do some homework and stop the rambling you hear on the Ed Shutlz show!

CieL- FreYa Ceastle : The Nazi Party closely resembles the government that Obama dreams about. When you consider the extension of government into private business, a civilian military and youth brigades, and the extension of government into the banking industry and the health care take over. All these policies have great similarity with the Nazi government of 1940's Germany.

Adriaan Zef : .... Nope. Tea Party uses Goebbels rhetoric of trying to find a scapegoat for people to latch onto and direct their hatred. The Tea Party is the one that has stomped on the head of innocent people, the Tea Party is the one that has used voter intimidation and threats to scare people into their party alignment. The Tea Party is the one who has threatened to destroy this country. The Tea Party is the Nazis in modern day America and need to be dealt with like all vermin.

True patriots understand the need to control our economy, bring balance back to the social structure of this country, and to ensure that human rights are protected and supported. A theocratic oligarchy like the Tea Party and other right wing nut jobs want to install in this nation is anathema to all intelligent free thinking people! I support our president. I support the stripping of corporations of their personhood status and any civil rights they may posses, I support the nationalization of healthcare and making profits from healthcare illegal. All in the interest of the common good of all citizens. Just like the founding fathers wanted. All men are created equal. The ideals this nation where founded upon liberty, justice and equality for all are best protected and gained through the democratic platform and not the tea party Nazi scum. May all of the tea party scum die and rot in the deepest pits of tartarus where all traiters and betrayers go!

Valentino Vie : You didn't watch the link, did you? See you unwilling to learn & your stuck on stupid! You don't know much about anything! All man created equal? You don't understand what your even talking about! That doesn't mean you can sit on your ass a...nd do nothing and expect a nice home like the one the man who worked hard has! That's the problem with you stupid liberals! You want something for nothing! You expect to be the beneficiary of someone else' labor, because it's not fair that one who thrives to be successful has more than one who didn't try!

Adriaan Zef ‎: The "best" this group can do is no better that the bush 8 years which were a complete cluster F and Disaster after Disaster. If they had anything worth wild they would have already done it. So look for no more that them spending there time reversing the movement forward to doing a U Turn and going backwards and claiming it is good.

Adriaan Zef ‎:...

Pranay Suresh : Just means republicans had the better smear campaigns going on... nothing more...

Cisca Zarmansyah : It means the USA is in deep do do!

Adriaan Zef : Great job GOP. Now get to work repealing everything obama has done. Also enforce Americas immigration laws and forcefully deport the illegal aliens.

Cisca Zarmansyah : We must be out of our mind to think for one minute liberals don't work. Nothing but an ignoramus and idiot would think that way and write it down. I wonder how many conservatives who are out of work are getting an access card, a check, extended unemployment benefits?

Pranay Suresh : Obama is done.

Valentino Vie : How long before the House Republican and Tea Bags start bickering with each other? They promised and awful lot to the American people. Better get to work. Sorry, health care isn't on the table! But you can get right to cutting the spending in your own districts immediately, like you promised.

Valentino Vie : The picture above seems the perfect metaphor for what seems to be happening in America: White men, White government, White principles, White religion, White morals and values and ethics: White America. And as I write this, I recall a comment somebody made a few weeks ago in another discussion -- that in his opinion, America is the land of the White People, and that if you aren't White and Right you ought to move somewhere else. I guess I'd better start packing my seabag...

CieL- FreYa Ceastle : What does that really say about the party that declared not so long ago that they were actually restoring the government to the people. You can find the hypocrisy of the Rs here. http://www.spokesman.com/blogs/hbo/ Tina Jacobson has a real problem. Open mouth and give the GOP on a national basis a black eye.

Now that local Republicans have chased the last Democrat from the Kootenai County Courthouse – County Clerk Dan English – it’ll be interesting to see if they can get their own house in order.

Cisca Zarmansyah : Let those who put them in office meet them. The rest of us aren't interested. We want them to produce on all of the big talk they had going on. Lots of trashing what had been done, but had nothing to offer themselves. I want them to show us what they've got.

Mr. President you are everything that frightens them, everything that threatens their order, and everything they hate. You cannot win them over.

Pranay Suresh : Look at the diversity: All White, All Male. Almost looks like the old boys club... oh, guess it is.

Valentino Vie ‎: 38 African Americans ran this election as Republicans, but you (So ya, babe?) Liberal media didn't report it or campaign for them. Maybe if Olberman & Maddow would have pulled for them like Obama, it wouldn't be that way. Marko Rubio isn't white by the way, don't you think the picture makes you think exactly that? See, Democrats are the only ones who make race a issue, they are the true racist!

Cisca Zarmansyah : ... Noy, you need a kiss!

Cisca Zarmansyah : So far, the latest figures show that the Democratic Party machinery has outraised its Republican counterpart in this campaign cycle by almost $270 million. Read more: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1010/44216.html#ixzz14Kjl4pF1

This year’s elections are much more of a fair fight than party leadership is letting on.

Valentino Vie : A kiss?

Valentino Vie : Just because you don't want me to open my mouth?

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, California Democrat, called for an investigation of those who are protesting the building of the Ground Zero Mosque on Tuesday.

Valentino Vie : Oh babe, there goes the Grim Ripper...er, Pelosi.

Adriaan Zef : She just will not give up, will she?

Valentino Vie : She needs to realize she has done enough damage, time to step aside. Get someone that can lead the party to a victory over the Rethuglicans in 2012!

Adriaan Zef : Wait until you get a load of Boehner's over-reacting! You'll wish Pelosi was back. She was dealing with a bunch of Greedy Obstructionist Pugilists (GOP), who just said "No" to everything the Democrats wanted to do to fix the mess they made in the previous administration. Great job Madam Speaker! Thanks for your hard work, and I hope you have nothing but good luck ahead of you! As for Boehner, I hope he accidentally falls asleep for hours during his next tanning session... ouch!

Pranay Suresh : This is a win win situation! Nancy Pelosi becomes House Minority Leader. She alienates the rest of the Nation and in two years we get more Republicans taking the rest of the seats in the house and someone new in the White House! It won't happen, even the Democrats are too smart to put her back in power, not with their jobs at stake.

Fairuz Azalia : She's on a power trip.

Cisca Zarmansyah : Come, Romeo. I'll kiss you!

Valentino Vie : You can't kiss your own lips, Juliet. Let me kiss you. Don't kiss me.

Valentino Vie :  Whoa! ...

Adriaan Zef : How long until the next election? Time to fire the incumbent Republicans in Washington. They have already caused new highs in unemployment by doing nothing about this problem! This is not the “change” that Americans voted for in November of 2010. They have steered off the path they promised during their campaigns. The Republican lawmakers are no longer in touch with, or serving the voters who voted them into office in the last election. No votes for any republican incumbents in the next election. High time to fire them all!

Valentino Vie : In 2006 when the new congress came in with Democrats controll & Obama for the past 2 years, and nothing was getting better! The people have spoken! Last election wasn't about Hope & Change. It was about defeating Bush who wasn't even on the ballot! Moron!

Pranay Suresh : meet the new boss, same as the old ...and... repub? dem? black? white? green? purple? crooks, the lot of them!

Cisca Zarmansyah : Nino, you need to get special sanction, later. No second dinner for you!

"Thank you for your perception! I like your romantic side, even if I do not always comment and I'm glad that you're in my circle of friends."
(Courtesies by: Wolfgang A. Gerhardt)

Wolfgang A.Gerhardt : May be you like this Sunday collage

Cisca Zarmansyah : Before today, there never was a person doing this to me. You create a simple matter to look special. This is a special thing for me.

Cisca Zarmansyah : Thank you. I love it. I love you, my friend.

CieL- FreYa Ceastle : Hmm, he's so nice...

"I am me.
In all the world,
there is no one else exactly like me.
Everything that comes out of me
is authentically mine,
because I alone chose it --
I own everything about me:
my body,
my feelings,
my mouth,
my voice,
all my actions,
whether they be to others or myself.
I own my fantasies,
my dreams,
my hopes,
my fears.
I own my triumphs and successes,
all my failures and mistakes.
Because I own all of me,
I can become intimately acquainted with me.
By so doing,
I can love me
and be friendly with all my parts.
I know there are aspects about myself that puzzle me,
and other aspects that I do not know
-- but as long as I am friendly
and loving to myself,
I can courageously and hopefully
look for solutions
to the puzzles and ways
to find out more about me.
However I look and sound,
whatever I say and do,
and whatever I think and feel at a given moment in time
is authentically me.
If later some parts of how I looked,
sounded,
thought,
and felt
turn out to be unfitting,
I can discard that which is unfitting,
keep the rest,
and invent something new
for that which I discarded.
I can see,
hear,
feel,
think,
say, and do.
I have the tools to survive,
to be close to others,
to be productive,
and to make sense
and order out of the world of people
and things outside of me.
I own me,
and therefore,
I can engineer me.
I am me,
and I am okay."
