► NYEPI TODAY
Celebration of Nyepi in Bali is localized with little similar activity in some places where there are a significant number of Hindus in region. But the success of Balinese for this celebration echoing across the world eg through termination of flights to and from Bali to create a message about life abstinence is expected to provide inspiration to the world community, especially for those who want to seriously pause to interpret the silence in quiet.
Silent Bali on Nyepi day may emit inspiration to the world to take the best steps to save nature by saving energy and restraints on the passions. Precepts for not traveling for one day, not to enjoy a day of entertainment, not to light a fire for one day, and not to work all day for one day may inspire us to reflect for a moment on the meaning of work, entertainment, travel, and the darkness in a life full of mystery.
One important thing for the moment is Nyepi day is extraordinary promotion for Bali tourism, an industry that relies on the image of authenticity and uniqueness. Quite a lot of foreign tourists who deliberately choose the time for them to have arrived in Bali before Nyepi day, so that they can directly see the uniqueness and authenticity of Balinese culture with its climax and anticlimax which is also unique. Usually they are religious tourists who want to meditation travel.
Nyepi provides a stillness of mind, emotional stability, and spiritual depth, so that mankind can control their actions. Exploiting the potential of natural and cultural to purely material interests and hedonism should be prevented. Nyepi precepts teach people not to spit their lusts. Precepts for lighting the fire is not to be interpreted literally put the fire out or no cooking or smoking, but it is meant to extinguish the glowing fire of lust that can master the self-control, as well as lust for power, lust for deceiving others, lust to plunge, to destroy and to trample the esteem of others.
The fastest meaning which can be captured from the implementation of Nyepi is to provide an opportunity for nature to rest completely for 24 hours. For one day a year, the streets of Denpasar or Kuta which usually familiar with the traffic jam were given the opportunity to empty completely, free of gas emissions, pollutants of various types of vehicles.
When me and my "first love" went to Bali in the years when we were still "green", we saw a number of processions in various forms of performing arts, such as Barong dance which ended with a bizarre climax where the dancers trying to stab themselves. At that moment I hid my face in his arms tightly because I was a bit horrified, though I also love the sound of Balinese gamelan.

► On Facebook, you are what you 'like,' study finds
Who said it? My boyfriends are also my friends. Sometimes they do not like each other and clicking "Like" on Facebook because there is no link to click on "Dislike" .... ehehehe ....
One of my boyfriends jokingly, "Baby, why Facebook does not provide an option to" add me as your opposition "or" add me as your enemy "or add me as a" terrorist "hahahaha ....?" Then he laughed and wrote his laughter with letters hahaha, not by lol or icons. I also laughed eheheheh ... because I felt "refreshed" with his ideas.
I asked him, "So, what does it mean if you click "Like"?
"It depends on the case. Sometimes I really like it. But it does not represent the whole of my self-expression. There was a time I clicked "Like" because something was emerging from within me and it was trying to control myself, but I could only reply in chains of words. Automatically my index finger can just click the "Like" for something --- the real --- I "Dislike". That's a sign I want to punch him in all matters relating to his id, his link, his comments!" he said his annoyance only in the form of typing. What a pity. Actually he's sexier when he's "sulking".
"Ehehehe... Facebook is capturing social cohesion, dahling!" I said, "Though I know in social groups we also have the "enemies", but clearly to add you as "not a friend" ... eehhehe .... is a nice idea but probably just me who understands your unique idea.... eehhehe" Then I marked him inside of me as a "unique boyfriend", not "a weird guy". Just as there is nothing "weird" in U.S. relations with the Taliban, India and Pakistan, China to Tibet, the color of America's relationship with Russia or the U.S. stance on Syria, a bitter smile but cordial between Israel and Palestine, for example? Nyahnyahnyah. >
Uh, yeah, recently I was watching a real difference between women and men in updating status on their facebook wall. Based on my casual observation, it turns out women could spend 1 hour to think of making the words on their walls so awesome to read. And this is very different when compared to the time required by women to remove their status on wall deemed "not to raise" their self-image to appear "very cool". One thing that often happens is, thinking for 1 hour will disappear in a minute. "Why not?" they said so when responding to my surprise. What? Thinking for 1 hour will disappear in a minute? Wow? Just because you feel your status on Facebook wall is not cool and no one who clicked "Like"? Based on the condition, then I think my boyfriend's idea to the availability of "Dislike" on Facebook user status is pretty good. "Add me as your enemy, baby".... ehehehee
