It was more vigorous. Japan argued doing it for scientific research. Throughout Alaska, Canada, Germany, Holland, Africa, Australia and the South Pole, Iceland and Norway also includes the countries that hunted and killed them. But the worst was Japan. They sold the whale meat for a high-class sushi. Japan has targeted 1050 for the hunted whales throughout the year in 2009, but until the end of the year they only got about 400 whales. The rest were saved by the environmental conservation agency based in Washington through whale protection campaign in the Sea Shepherd Conversation Society (Washington).

Since 1986, the International Whaling Commission (IWC) has banned the hunting of this for commercial purposes. Exceptions were given to native tribes hunted whales for scientific purposes, but Japan, Iceland and Norway continued to hunt whales whose numbers up to 2000 per year. The excuse put forward was for research, so that ICW believed. They mentioned several types of whales were extremely abundant in number, so type that could be harvested for meat and fat could be used for commercial purposes.

Loud protests also came from Australia, even Australia has embarked on an illegal act legal channels for Japan to the International Court in The Hague, before the IWC meeting in Morocco in last June. The meeting was seeking an agreement related to whaling for commercial purposes, but in a very strict quota. Meanwhile, the researchers were discussing the possibility of giving "rights" for whales and dolphins, so as not to be the target of poaching in coming years. I agree with this idea. I believe that whales and dolphins also have the right to life, freedom and protection for their home and family.

Adriaan Zef : Japanese media said the Japanese Coast Guard pocketed an arrest warrant for the chairman of Anti-whaling organization, charged that he ordered his subordinates to obstruct the whaling by Japan. NHK Radio reported that Japan wanted Paul Watson, founder of Sea Shepherd Conservation society which originated from Canada, listed into a searchable list of international police, but Coast Guard spokesman didn't confirm the report.

In his statement, Watson said he was targeted for political reasons. He said the Japanese government "so eager" to prevent the Sea Shepherd ship back to antarctic seas that became a refuge for whales in 2010 and 2011 seasons. Each year, the association was trying to disrupt the activities of Japan's whale hunt in seas off Antarctica with or overtake the Japanese vessels. Confrontation was sometimes turned into violence, even caused a collision.
