► SCIENCE DAILY March 26, 2013 : Protein-Rich Breakfasts Prevent Unhealthy Snacking in the Evening, Study Finds — Breakfast might be the most important meal of the day, but up to 60 percent of American young people consistently skip it. Now, Heather Leidy, an assistant professor in the Department of Nutrition and Exercise Physiology, says eating a breakfast rich in protein significantly improves appetite control and reduces unhealthy snacking on high-fat or high-sugar foods in the evening, which could help improve the diets of more than 25 million overweight or obese young adults in the U.S. || ► HUFFINGTON POST 03/28/2013 - High-Protein Breakfast Helps Prevent Unhealthy Snacking Later, Study Says || ► WEBMD - The Big Breakfast Diet

► Maya Angelou: Learning to love my mother. World-renowned poet, author and activist Maya Angelou has written extensively about her life, starting with I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings in 1969. More than 40 years later, she is finally opening up about one of the most important and complex relationships in her life: her relationship with her mother, Vivian Baxter. When Angelou was three years old, Baxter sent her and her brother away to be raised by their grandmother in Stamps, Arkansas. When Angelou returned to live with Baxter 10 years later, she refused to call her her mother, referring to her only as "Lady". Angelou's seventh autobiography, Mom & Me & Mom, chronicles how Lady eventually became Mom. It was a long journey with many bumps along the way, but as Angelou tells Michael Maher, it is a story of the healing power of love. Produced by Ashley Semler, camera by Chuck Tayman, editing by William McKenna. Photos courtesy Angelou Personal Collection

■ Author Iain Banks has terminal cancer
In the elevator I heard them talking softly, almost whispering to each other. "Well, if we had been convicted by a physician with cancer, so when we finished the treatment, be prepared to get out of the hospital through its back door"■ Colosseum lights off in Rome in protest at Marines murder case
I glanced at them. Two mothers aged less than 50 years. I was in no mood to see them more than two seconds, let alone joining in their conversation. Whoa! Absolutely not. 1,2 mothers. 1,2 seconds, 1,2 pairs of legs. No. 3. Ah. I just felt the elevator doors opened longer than usual. Ah, come on! Hurry opened! Open the door! Go! Somebody please help, help open the door!
As soon as the elevator doors opened, I immediately stepped out. At first I thought my legs had gone very quickly, but I was wrong. Drops of water in my eyes is the winner of the fastest time. Their voices had been left behind.
(So, what next, Cisca? You do not explain anything, at least, why you are in the hospital? When? You said you got off the elevator. To come to visit or come home, hm?)
