Russian spacecraft, Soyuz carrying Japanese astronaut, the U.S. and Russian cosmonaut was launched yesterday with the aim of the International Space Station (ISS).
Japanese astronaut Akihiko Hoshide, a veteran Russian cosmonaut Malenchenko and the U.S. astronaut from the Space Agency (NASA) Sunita Williams drove to the Soyuz TMA-05M from Baikonur Space Base, Kazakhstan at around 08:40 local time, yesterday. They were scheduled to arrive at the destination location on Tuesday (7/17) morning.
They would join NASA flight engineer Joseph Acaba and two Russian cosmonaut, Gennady Padalka and Sergei Revin, who has been at the ISS.
Space station (which was the construction cost of U.S. $ 100 billion) has a distance of 385 km from the earth. Soyuz booster rocket would take two days to reach the International Space Station.
When the Soyuz was launched, family and colleagues of the three crew members were present to witness. According to schedule, the launch was carried out promptly at 08:40 local time.
Although there was strong pressure on the G-force, the third face of the crew looked relaxed, this could be seen through the TV screen. They conducted a series of their routine tasks.
