Cisca Zarmansyah : This is a great project of Middle East. There's a map of the Middle East (which is relatively unknown), Afghanistan, and Pakistan have been circulating around in a circle of strategic U.S. government, NATO, policy holders, and military circles since mid-2006. The map has been allowed to surface in public, perhaps in an effort to build consensus and to slowly prepare the people to understand the changes in the Middle East. The map is an overview of the restructuring of the Middle East and re-image areas to be identified as the "New Middle East."
Valentino Vie : That's a nice mapping, my wife Cisca Zarmansyah. The strength of Anglo-American that succeeded in occupying Iraq, Kurdistan in particular, seems to be a preparatory ground for Balkanization project (Disunion) and Finlandization (Pacification) in the Middle East region. It has become the legislative framework under the Iraqi parliament and Iraq federalisasi project, division of the country a thousand and one night into three parts are now executed.
Adriaan Zef : You don't need to reminisce or to speculate with some winged situation or circling to find a new story or making up the irrelevant facts to the real situation. We're talking about the UN's role in the Syria conflict!

Jan Pepijn Servaas : I am very concerned with the refugees fate.
Valentino Vie: Economic interests of European countries towards its former colonies in Africa and Middle East has totally ignored the aspect of political order that should involve all communities in the countries which become members of their trade. And it's not done. Now what? There's the anger people. There's a revolution in the replacement of state leaders. R-e-v-o-l-u-t-i-o-n. Revolution! And we all know its meaning. Revolution is not a romantic dinner. It's a rebellion. An act of violence whereby one class overthrows another class. (written by my loving wife Cisca Zarmansyah, February 23, 2011)
Almira Izzati : @ Jan Pepijn Servaas, Jaaan.... some reports list the "human rights violations" including "violation of freedom of expression and action," "excessive use of force in putting down the demonstrators, arbitrary arrests, executions, torture and other cruel or inhuman". The report also notes that "Syrian security forces directly block the distribution of essential food supplies in certain locations.

Cisca Zarmansyah : A series of U.S. delegation's visit to Syria at the beginning of Obama's leadership is the first step to demonstrate the U.S. commitment in the new era of Obama, who wants to involve (to engage) Syria within the framework of the new U.S. policy in the Middle East region, especially to realize the security and stability and peace in region. However, from an economic standpoint, the U.S. has huge economic interests, especially regarding the supply of oil from the Middle East region and therefore have great attention to the creation of security in region.
Adriaan Zef : My dear, you are thinking too far to jump. I got an impression that you are somewhat tendentious.
Adriaan Zef : Damn! I feel very narrow and choked,... shit!!
Cisca Zarmansyah : BB, you, I mean, ... we, must address the root of all this!

# Arab Unrest: Middle East and North Africa, country by country
http://news.blogs.cnn.com/category/world/arab-unrest-developments/
The brutality of Bashar Al Assad's regime is still ongoing. The refugees from Jisr Al Syria Shughour who survivors crossed into Turkey described how government soldiers fired on unarmed civilians, including the shots toward the ambulance that transporting the wounded or dead. So, it's not surprising that the death toll since the anti-Assad demonstrations that have erupted since 12 last week estimated 1,400 people. It was the largest death toll of all the revolutions that broke out in the Arab region since late last year.
Turkey also have to open another refugee camp in the district of Hatay. Thus, there are three special camps to accommodate refugees in Syria. Refugees who have reached Turkish territory in northern Syria more than 4,000 inhabitants.
In addition to Turkey, Lebanon, the neighboring countries in eastern Syria, is also experiencing the same thing. Some residents are also trying to cross the Syrian Golan Heights which was acquired by Israel since the War of 1967. That happens because the brutality of the Syrian government troops occurs evenly in various parts of the country. Not only in Jisr Al Shughour, but also Daraa and Damascus.
Meanwhile, Britain accused Iran also sent troops to Syria to help the Assad regime to beat the civilians. Accusations were justified by the testimony of a number of refugees in Hatay. One of them, Samir, 27, along with his several comrades has arrested two informants of government. "One of them (the arrest) is bearded. In fact, no one of the Syrian soldier who has a beard. He also can't speak Arabic at all," he told The Daily Telegraph.
Last week, six citizens of Jisr al-Shughur also sworn that they have heard the conversation in a non-Arabic languages from a number of soldiers who joined the government forces. "No doubt, Syria is helped by Iran which provides the "equipment" and tell them how to crush the demonstrators, "said British Foreign Secretary William Hague told Sky News.
There has been no response from Iran to the accusation. But, certainly, Damascus and Tehran are connected by a factor of Shiites. Iran, as is known, is the largest Shi'ite country in the world. While the Syrian regime is Alawite, it is a "branch" of the Shia. Among the 22.5 million citizens of Syria, 90 percent are Muslims. Among the entire Muslim people, Shi'ism / Alawite is actually only 13 % and 74 % Sunni. But, in spite of the minority, those Shia / Alawite had been in power since 1971 by Bashar's father, Hafez Al Assad.
In a similar development, the Britain, France and Portugal tried to pressure the UN to issue a resolution that strongly condemned the brutality of Damascus, as well as hold accountable, but it keeps hitting the wall. That happens because of the strong support to Syria which has close ties with Russia as a permanent member of UN Security Council. Lebanon, which is representative of the Arab region in the Security Council is also known to be very pro-Damascus.
The 15 countries of UN Security Council member have been discussing a new draft resolution that will be imposed on Syria. Earlier the UN Security Council has imposed sanctions on the country, but that did not stop atrocities of al-Assad's regime that has done killing its people.
The resolution will fail if one member of the UNSC refuse or veto it. Previously, the draft resolution failed because Russia rejected it. Russia is an ally of Syria, therefore Russia is now in a position to defend Syria. Similarly with China. Russia and China now has an antagonistic position, and want to play their own role. Russia and China do not want to just be a "rubber stamp" of the West in times of crisis in the Arab world and North Africa. Both countries, Russia and China want to invest and grow services to Arab countries and North Africa without relying with the West.
Conversely, the West can't act alone without Russia and China. As it's facing the Gaddafi, the G8 meeting, the state industry that recently took place in France, gave the mandate to the Russian President Medvedev as a "broker" politic, so that Gaddafi was willing to resign from power. Although until now there has been no sign of Gaddafi would retreat from his position, but his position increasingly squeezed, and many of his ministers who have a key position were leaving him and defected to the opposition.
The Security Council has been criticized for failing to act to halt violence in Syria as happened in Libya. The groups such as Amnesty International urges the Security Council to refer the situation in Syria for the International Criminal Court. A group of international activists had visited Syria and the ICC in The Hague and provide evidence of crimes against humanity committed government forces. President Bashar al-Assad can be brought to the Court of International Humanitarian Crimes (ICC) in The Hague, due to all his crimes.
It seems like in other Arab countries, after Tunisia, Egypt, and Yemen, Syria would change. The fate of the dictator leaders who have been very "out of date" must end, and be willing to leave the power. There's not much thinking time to maintain his power again, because the times and circumstances have changed.
