NATO's Commitment Is Questionable

Adriaan Zef : Fellowship of the United States with European military is currently overcast, if it does not wish to be called "dismal". U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates said that last week, related to U.S. relations with North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) that has existed for more than six decades. In his last speech as the highest officials in Pentagon, Gates questioned the sustainability of NATO. According to him, characteristic of NATO member countries are stingy and do not have a political intention to accelerate the end of U.S. involvement in NATO. NATO was formed in 1949 an organization formed by past U.S. to counter Soviet aggression. However, along with the end of the Cold War, this organization seemed to find its own identity.
Gates could not hide his frustration to NATO bureaucracy and restrictions as a reason of European countries when asked for participation in Afghanistan war. According to Gates, the assessment of NATO's future was not excessive. If it was seen from NATO operations results in Afghanistan and Libya, NATO's weakness was clear. Even so well with U.S. and European alliances.
"In fact, the support and patience of U.S. Congress will be reduced to release funds to countries which do not seem willing to devote the necessary resources or make changes necessary to become a serious partner in defending themselves," added Gates who would leave on June 30.
Without mentioning names, he criticized the allies who wanted to make the taxpayers in the U.S. assumed that the defense of Europe were being abandoned because of the tightening of European defense budgets.
Gates pointed out how NATO struggled to bear the deployment cost of 25 thousand to 45 thousand troops and their supporting assets.
"The U.S. leaders in their future do not have the experience to face the Cold War probably would not consider investment benefits the U.S. in NATO," he said.
Gates praised Norway and Denmark, which provided assistance valued higher when compared with their small military forces. Belgium and Canada also referred to by him has been giving major contributions to operations in Libya. On different occasions, in Abu Dhabi, the countries that joined the International Contact Group on Libya promised the help of fresh fund of U.S. $ 1.5 billion for the Transitional Council of Libya (TNC). Italy and France offered a total of U $ l, 02 billion. Kuwait and Qatar pledged a total of U.S. $ 280 million. Turkey would provide U.S. $ 100 million for the opposition based in Benghazi. United States would increase humanitarian aid to Libya, not directly to the TNC, amounting to U.S. $ 26.5 million. "We are willing to organize the distribution of fresh funds to the Conservancy," said U.S. Secretary of state Hillary Clinton.

Adriaan Zef : Honey, to me, there's a very deep sense of commitment. The promise and commitment was not just fulfill what we have promised. But the promise is wholeheartedly job, forcefully, an activity that is filled with the values of professionalism, delivers more than what we promised. Fulfilling the promise and commitment can't only be filled with talk only, but must be from the deepest depths, so that the whole universe is working for us in providing the best. A promise, to me, it is not giving a number of what I promised, but it is a minimum standard that must be met. It feels very heavy and even oppressive when I realize that I'm not able to fulfill the promise, even if it's not a promise and a commitment from me personally.
Cisca Zarmansyah: Although it is difficult, I'm always trying to digest your every words with appropriate objectivity. And I seem to understand them well enough. But there's something that I might forget, and God has taught me directly to understand it. That in committing, there's other component outside the hard work. This component is His will. But I don't want to use an apology on the power of God in willing to cover up my promises and commitments. I always have a deep respect to my friends who could give their commitment. It takes courage. Guts. So, the responsibility for promise and a commitment are not to be feared and avoided, but to deal with.
Valentino Vie : Cisca Zarmansyah sweetheart, it is more terrified if I imagine how many times I do excuse, trying to justify and blame it on someone else or whatever it is when I am not able to fulfill that promise. Oouuh.... may God always reminds us to always keep the commitments on every promise we said in the role of the lives we live. Amen.
Adriaan Zef : Honey, I think he got an ass like a donkey, with a monkey looks like King Kong!

NATO Air Strike in Libya

Almira Izzati : Now the presence of NATO is so awkwardly in Libya. Arab League begins to murmur to them ... weww !
Pranay Suresh : Oops sorry .... friendly fire!
Cisca Zarmansyah: Let's review a movement to overthrow the government that is not supported fully by its people suffering. It will not involve the honesty and triumph. Compare the Libyan affair with what has happened in Tunisia or Egypt. When the revolution begins with the bread story, then the blood story about the blood will be clearer and more easily overcome. At least, it appears more clear, concise and not protracted. But if it is imbued by the intrigue, it will show the actors a ridiculous war. The Libyans do not like NATO, but they also do not like Gaddafi. The opposition don't like Gaddafi but NATO. They are the opposition on behalf of civilians to the international forums, but they are not the people for Gaddafi. When many civilian casualties fell as a result of NATO attacks, this could be used by Gaddafi as a boomerang to NATO. Thus, my most rugged conclusion is "If your children are misbehaving, it is better if you slap them than they are slapped by the parents of your neighbor".

Libya, Getting it Right: A Revolutionary Pan-African Perspective | Black Agenda Report
www.blackagendareport.com :: http://www.blackagendareport.com/content/libya-getting-it-right-revolutionary-pan-african-perspective
The conflict in Libya is not a revolution, but a counter-revolution. The struggle “is fundamentally a battle between Pan-African forces on the one hand, who are dedicated to the realization of Qaddafi's vision of a united Africa, and reactionary racist Libyan Arab forces who reject Qaddafi's vision

Pranay Suresh : West is very concerned with who would be the ruler of Libya's oil fields that produce more than 1.6 million barrels per day.
Cisca Zarmansyah : Is there a "Genuine Revolution" of the people by the people and for the people themselves?
Pranay Suresh : That is the best revolution for Obama!
Cisca Zarmansyah : Nay, it's different from Bush in Iraq case. Obama was referring to what happened last February in Egypt. It was a revolution expected by Obama would appear in Libya. But the Libya is not the Egypt. Gaddafi is not Mubarak, though they claimed that they are both the Arabs and Muslims. What is clear is the "Civil Society" in Egypt was more powerful, based on the leadership of clerics and intellectuals, whereas the Libyan society was much more united in the association of tribes or tribalism. So between Libya and Egypt have a very different Social Capital. Now, the West considers that a romantic Obama's gesture as "The Chief of Police the World," can't save people from Gaddafi's slaughter in Libya.
Pranay Suresh : He starts to lose the goodwill on Capitol Hill.
Valentino Vie : Sweet darling Cisca Zarmansyah , indeed the Neo-con, no other, is a collaboration between the conservative Jewish political affiliation to the Likud Party and supported by Catholic conservatives, who had triumphed in the reign of George Bush. They have very conservative views, and had served in the administration of President Ronald Reagan, who was involved in the cold war era and developed the East-West tension, as well as having an aggressive strategy when faced with the Soviet Union.
They, the analysts (40 person), delivered in the form of a letter that they signed, stating that Libya was "on the verge of humanitarian disaster and moral". The letter was shown to President Barack Obama, and calling for the White House to take immediate specific action, involving the military, a number of diplomatic and economic sanctions to "end the Libyan's horror regime".
Neo-con groups are basically pro-intervention, pro-war, regardless of how the budget issued by the state. They don't realize that they will face a prolonged economic crisis due to war budget to be financed by the state. If they fall into a puddle of war in Libya, the issue of Iraq and Afghanistan have not been completed, it would erode the strength and American power.
That's very good, isn't it? Go get it! haha... .........
