Saudi Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the demonstrators were "gathered outside the embassy, throwing stones, then stormed the building". The statement added that the demonstrators remained in the embassy for a few moments before they were ordered out by the Syrian security forces.
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia strongly condemned this incident and asked the Syrian authorities responsible for security and protection of the interests of its citizens in Saudi Arabia and Syria. Saudi Arabia recalled its ambassador from Damascus in August, when King Abdullah demanded an end to oppression.
