You, Almira Izzati, Adriaan Zef, Valentino Vie and 2 others like this.
Cisca Zarmansyah : We can design a tax scheme on food consumption based on amount of greenhouse gases produced by each category of food. Thus, tax revenues will rise for commodities such as meat which contributed the biggest gas, especially beef and lamb. Instead the tax imposed in many European countries for example nuts will be reduced. This is a very good option!
CieL- FreYa Ceastle : I want Green ....!
Cisca Zarmansyah : Also buy local products, Jan ... Why should we import the beef from Australia if the local cattle also delicious? Imagine how much energy is spent and pollution is produced, only for bringing the European sausage or Dutch cheese to our table ..
CieL- FreYa Ceastle : Don't start with me, sweetie. So far I don't sleep, just a bit blind eye.
Cisca Zarmansyah : duuuhh... wines from Napa Valley have to wade a distance of 2143 miles for sake of being in a Chicago supermarket... phew!
CieL- FreYa Ceastle : ... hAHAHAha ...... ask the Nanotech!
Adriaan Zef : Practice the 3 R principles: reduce, reuse, recycle. Reduce consumption, reuse hand goods can still be used, and recycling of certain materials. I realize it's easier said than done. But once started, we'll get used to.
Adriaan Zef : By combining the data of climate simulations with the loss of vegetation systems, scientists agree that the extinction of mammoth trigger an increase in air temperature by 0.2° Celsius during the era of Pleitosen (10.000-15.000 yrs ago). Who was causing it? The humans. So the hunt mammoth by human activity at that time indirectly lead to climate change that impact on environmental change and global warming.
