ATLANTIC WIRE  24 April 2013 : Gwyneth Paltrow Is the 'Most Beautiful Woman' Alive — and You Can't Stop Her || REUTERS : Gwyneth Paltrow named People's most beautiful woman
Wow! This headline is so undermining the existence of fellow women. But, I never care about the beauty of other women, as long as my partner keeps saying that I am the most beautiful woman for him. Actually I never believe his words about my beauty, but I see my baby, my mother, the elderly, the children of our neighbors like the way I greet them. I have always felt the eyes of children and elderly are the most honest eyes in seeing something. So I think my partner's opinion is objective enough. He is not a womanizer man, he's also not a Venustraphobia. He said he was just a very confident man because of his love to me.

Ahaha this scene reminds me of their hypocrisy, the cigarette business. After they sell cigarettes and make people suffer from various diseases due to tobacco use (Although you may argue by saying that the business of selling cigarettes is also a source of income for the cigarette factory workers and government also reap considerable tax on the business of selling cigarettes, and I think for this debate should involve the economists, sociologists and health expert ) then perhaps to cover up the feelings of guilt to (dunno whoever, whatever) they give scholarships to schools and colleges. Maybe people will think it is a good action, but I see it as harassment. As if they say, "See? Putin on Boston blasts: We suffered from terrorists, called 'insurgents' by West. The deadly bombing of Boston Marathon confirms Russia's position that terrorists are a common threat to all nations and must never be supported for political gains, says Russian President Vladimir Putin. Putin was commenting in Moscow during his annual Q&A session on the flood of comments in the US, many of them from common people, which blamed Russia, where the suspects in the bombing were born, over the crime.

People & Power - America's War Games. The United States' military expenditures today account for about 40 percent of the world total. In 2012, the US spent some $682bn on its military - an amount more than what was spent by the next 13 countries combined. Now that the war in Iraq is over and the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan will be complete in 2014, the stage might therefore appear to be set for a decrease in US defence spending. Even in Washington DC, many have argued that the defence budget can be cut substantially and the resulting "peace dividend" could be diverted to more pressing domestic concerns, such as dealing with the nation's continuing economic problems.

George W Bush's presidential library, museum and policy centre has opened in Dallas, Texas. All modern-day presidents have been honoured with such libraries in their home states, including Richard Nixon, whose library draws about 100,000 visitors a year with its exhibits and research opportunities. The complex, which opened in 1991, is built around the thirty-seventh president's childhood home in southern California. Nixon is best remembered for the Watergate scandal, an illegal spying operation on his political enemies, and the cover-up that followed, events extensively dealt with in the library's exhibits.  Al Jazeera's Rob Reynolds reports from California. ||Bush Waterboarding

Guantanamo Bay interrogation video released - 15 July 08. Lawyers for a Canadian prisoner held at Guantanamo Bay have released a videotape showing him being interrogated. The pictures offer the first glimpse inside the secretive and isolated US prison in Cuba. In the video, a Canadian Security Intelligence Services agent is shown grilling Omar Khadr in 2003, when he was 15. The video shows him weeping, his face buried in his hands. Khadr also tells his captors he's been tortured. The Canadian citizen is accused of throwing a grenade that killed a US soldier during a 2002 firefight in Afghanistan. Al Jazeera's Dan Nolan tells the story. || Inside Story Americas - Has torture become acceptable? The European Court of Human Rights condemns CIA torture and members of the US Senate intelligence committee calls it "a terrible mistake". But will such criticism be overshadowed by a film that falsely suggests that the use of torture led to the killing of Osama bin Laden?

Putin fields questions during annual phone-in. Russia's President Vladimir Putin has been speaking to the nation in one of the live televised question and answer sessions that have become a trademark of his presidency. Almost two million people sent in questions to the president, with many tackling him on Russia's current economic issues. Al Jazeera's David Chater has been gauging the reaction in Russia's eastern outpost Vladivostok.

Inside Story - The fight for global vaccinations. Global vaccination programmes are offering children a better start in life. It is universally recognised as one of the most successful and cost effective health programmes in the world. Immunising children against a range of diseases that can cause serious illness, disability or death. You tired to curb the passions and to endure the pain. Also waiting for the changes you want. I understand how scratched your heart. And how your self-esteem trampled. Thrown out. Those who embrace you when you are needed. However, compassion touches me. In your weary you stand tall. Although as wasted, you are calm and silent like coral. In your silence, still upright. Like sheer cliffs that often you rock. Abstinence cry if you do not need it. Although cornered you keep waiting. Stoic. Smiling while injured.

My tigress, they will burst when you are cornered. However, keep patient, conquer yourself. Don't be afraid. Even if you know that they are allied. Because one day the mountain will explode. Even the smallest mountain. And, at that time they will know how ferocious a wounded tiger if her revenge is fueled. Therefore my beautiful tiger, uprise again. Running and clawing this cruel life. And do not complain. Keep the spirit.

***

Q : What is this, Cisca? Do you imagine learning as a tigress?
A : Nope. This is a poem by Reinhold Messner posted by him to me. When reading it I was reminded to you, tigress.
