26 March 2013 : Actually I do not really hate her, as I also do not much like her. But I also very rarely talk to her, even though only a single word. I always do not have a single word to her. I do not know why. I do not have any words for her. This silence has been outstanding for more than 15 years. But today I came to visit her in the hospital. He recently underwent surgery of the thyroid gland.

I just realized. She is old. She is very old when compared to her own self, the last time I still occasionally talk to her. More than 15 years ago.

She is my aunt. She has the same father and different mother with my mother.

Today I felt very uncomfortable, since two days I heard about her health through a telephone conversation with my mom. I feel very different. I could smell the sunset in the afternoon for two days. I do not like to see her in the hospital. I could feel another energy in her  body. I felt a restlessness, but today I was speechless.

Battle of Iwo Jima / Operation Detachment (19 February – 26 March 1945)
This war became immortal due to the photographic works created by Joe Rosenthal, journalists, Associated Press (AP), which followed the advance of the Allied Forces in the Pacific War on 23 February 1945. The photos showed 6 allied forces (exactly 5 people from the U.S. Marines and a U.S. Navy) was trying to raise the U.S. flag atop Mount Suribach.

Graphic works that became known as "Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima" was able to "tell" about the struggle and cooperation to uphold the country's honor. The photographs - which later became very famous and reproduced thousands of times --- also received a Pulitzer Prize (the highest honor in U.S. journalism). Three of the flag raisers were killed in the war (Franklin Sousley, Harlon Block and Michael Strank), while the others tried to survive until the end of war (John Bradley, Rene Gagnon and Ira Hayes) became celebrities as the publication of this photo widely.

Many fictional films and documentaries that tells the story of this war. Some of them are: Sands of Iwo Jima, 1949. It's the U.S. film starring by John Wayne. The Outsider, 1961. Tony Curtis played as the flag raisers Ira Hayes. Flags of Our Fathers (FOF), and Letters of Iwo Jima (LIJ), 2006. Two films directed by Clint Eastwood. FOF was based on an American viewpoint based on the novel of the same name by James Bradley and Ron Powers. LIJ was based on the perspective of the Japanese soldiers. The film received four Academy Award nominations, though only got one: Best Film Editing. HBO miniseries, The Pacific, episode 8, 2010 directed by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg, telling the story of American soldiers John Basilone from landing until he died on that day.
